Controversial Mega Data Center Gets Green Light in New Mexico

After several weeks of intense public debate, authorities in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, have authorized funding for a mega data processing center supported by President Trump. They argue that the multimillion-dollar investment will create jobs and boost binational economic development. However, neighbors, officials, and activists criticize the lack of environmental impact studies and excessive water consumption required for a project of this type in a semi-desert climate.
