For the first time in history, Mexican citizens went to the polls to elect half of their judges and magistrates. Although votes are still being counted to fill more than 800 posts, all signs indicate that Hugo Aguilar Ortiz, an indigenous Mixtec man from the state of Oaxaca, will be the president of the new Supreme Court of Justice. Meanwhile, the opposition has criticized the judicial reform, calling for a vote boycott and dismissing the results. Citlali Sáenz has the details from Mexico City.
