Early Voting is On the Rise Despite the Raids

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15
PROGRAM #11300 11:00 AM PT
Early Voting is On the Rise Despite the Raids.
California’s Central Valley is home to a highly competitive district in the battle for Congress. As voters began turning out to the early polls, ICE agents began sweeping some cities with raids targeting farm and construction workers. Will these federal raids impact voter turnout? What are Latino groups seeing on the ground in early voting? What issues do early voters have in mind? What to know if you are planning to vote by mail? How to identify false information online? What to expect on Election Day? Representatives of the United Front, a broad coalition of voting rights groups, discuss these and other questions and announce efforts to help voters overcome obstacles and protect the vote.
Guests: Silvia Romano, Community Organizer, Faith in The Valley, Delano, CA; Eriberto Fernandez, Senior Field Director, California Labor Federation, Bakersfield, CA; Cecilia Castro, Community Organizer, Bakersfield, CA; Fabiola DeCaratachea, Deputy Director, Dolores Huerta Foundation, Lemoore, CA.
