HONDURAS AND OPINION FORUM. Amid widespread acts of civil protest against the overthrow of president Zelaya, a new president is preparing to be inaugurated in Honduras at the end of this month. A special envoy of president Obama visits the country talking about reconciliation. This program provides a report. It also opens a forum for the opinions of listeners who have called to Linea Abierta's voice mail. Opinions include the unemployment crisis, home foreclosures, and more.

IMMIGRATION EDITION – ACTION FOR REFORM. On this day, thousands around the nation begin a week of coordinated rallies, town hall meetings and visits to congress members in a renewed effort to urge for immigration reform. Attorney Rosalba Piña, an immigration law expert, hosts this edition from Chicago. Piña also answers listener questions about the dos and don’ts when applying for residence and naturalization.

HEALTH BILL. Leaders of the U.S. House and Senate are meeting to reconcile differences on the two versions of the health reform bill. Pending issues include how to afford health insurance policy, how to hold insurance companies accountable, and access to health care, immigration and employer mandates. A vote on a final bill is expected later this month or early February.
