EDITION. Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano presents a keynote speech in Mexico
about the loss and violation of workers' rights. The award-winning journalist
remembered the workers of Chicago that in 1886 were sentenced to be hung for
their labor activism, and he narrated some of the stories of the exploitation
incurred all over the world by companies such as Wal-Mart, General Electric,
and McDonald's, with the permission of governments. Galeano was invited by a
U.N. organization that announced a scholarship program that will allow 400
students from Haiti to obtain Master's and Ph.D. degrees, with the
collaboration of the University of the State of Haiti. Martha Elena RamÃrez
hosts Voz PÃºblica from Mexico City.
