Fight for Latino Vote, Law Says "No" to Equal Opportunity in AZ, and Revolutionary Corrido Writer.

FIGHT FOR LATINO VOTE - Obama and McCain continue to seek the Latino vote. This week, as was announced, both candidates attend two conventions of important Latino organizations, one in the federal capital, and the other in California. Polls show Obama ahead of McCain, in the Latino vote, with a little more than 2 to 1, but McCain insists that he has demonstrated more loyalty to the Latino community, citing the example of his sponsorship of the bipartisan McCain-Kennedy immigration bill in 2005. It remains to be seen for whom Latinos will end up voting. Meanwhile, as Patricia Guadalupe reports, the community is listening closely.

LAW SAYS "NO" TO EQUAL OPPORTUNITY IN AZ - Arizona could become the fourth state to end Affirmative Action, the program designed to guarantee equal opportunity to minorities. A group led by African-American Ward Connerly, former University of California regent, is promoting a bill known as the Arizona Civil Rights Initiative. Connerly successfully pushed similar measures in California, Michigan and Washington. Critics have asked a local court to stop the measure from appearing on the electoral ballot in November, arguing a fraudulent collection of signatures. Elvia Díaz has more.

REVOLUTIONARY CORRIDO WRITER – Folk songs and social conscience are two essential elements of Judith Reyes, a woman who spent her life expressing the reality of her country. From a very young age, she began to appear in commercial media, and her music was sung by Jorge Negrete. But very soon, she decided that her music was a way to fight to transform reality. She was also a journalist and founded the newspaper Acción. Her struggle is reflected in a recent book "Judith Reyes, Una mujer de canto revolucionario", written by Liliana García. Raúl Silva offers a closer look at the book.
