CLINTON WINS IN PENNSYLVANIA – Senator Hillary Clinton’s victory in Pennsylvania secured the continuation of her presidential campaign. With an advantage of 10 percentage points above her rival Barack Obama, Clinton won enough support to continue her fight for at least the 9 remaining primary elections. Latino voters account for only 3 percent of Pennsylvania’s electorate. However, exit polls suggest that many Latinos decided at the last minute, and most favored Senator Clinton. SURPRISE BUSH PLAN – For the first time, President Bush has proposed to stop the growth of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. Bush made his declaration right before going to an important meeting among the most polluting countries in the world. This is a historic moment when Congress and the presidential candidates are considering proposals to stop climate change. Many say Bush’s proposal is too little, too late.
