Curet-Alonso, this program features contemporary and traditional rhythms
from the Spanish-speaking Caribbean basin. The ten-year-old program is
produced in San Juan de Puerto Rico by Radio Universidad.
Veteran journalist and composer
Catalino "Tite" Curet-Alonso was featured by Spain’s ABC newspaper as
one of the "one thousand faces of the Millenium," along with personalities
like pacifist Gandhi, painter Rembrandt, philosopher Bertrand Russell,
writer Maxim Gorki and singer Nat King Cole.
With over 2,000 compositions, Curet-Alonso’s
songs have been interpreted around the world by salsa music greats Rubén
Blades, Cheo Feliciano, Ismael Rivera, Tito Rodríguez, Willie Colón, La
Lupe and many more.
