The California Broadcasters Association (CBA), representing the 962 television and radio stations throughout the state, will sponsor a live, ninety-minute debate, featuring the top gubernatorial candidates, Wednesday, September 24, 2003, 6-7:30 pm. The debate will take place at California State University, Sacramento, and will be broadcast live through television and radio stations throughout California.
The debate will allow California voters to learn about the October 7th recall election, the candidates, and the issues affecting the state, by presenting the top candidates in a conversational-roundtable environment. The viewers and listeners will be able to see and hear the candidates answer questions on public policy, which were submitted by the public, and provided to the candidates, in advance.
Radio Bilingüe will broadcast live the 90-minute debate over its three stations in the Central Valley, KSJV 91.5 FM-Fresno, KTQX 90.1 FM-Bakersfield, and KMPO 88.7 FM-Modesto/Stockton, and over the Internet at www.radiobilingue.org.
Radio Bilingüe, Inc. is a non-profit, educational broadcast network that is owned and operated by a Latino community-based organization. Starting as a single full power radio station in Fresno, Radio Bilingüe now owns 5 stations serving the San Joaquin, Salinas and Imperial Valleys. In 1993 Radio Bilingüe founded Satélite Radio Bilingüe, recognized today as National Latino Public Radio with Spanish language service on two satellites serving 60 affiliate stations in the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
